# Published app access fails

Determine whether the failure happens before sign-in, during authentication, or after the user's identity is established.

## Check the symptom

| Symptom                                               | Investigate                                                                                                                                                                                       |

| Invitation is missing or unusable | Email, intended app, and [invitation workflow](/access-and-sharing/members-users-and-groups/invite-by-email.md). |

## Reproduce with the intended account

Confirm the exact published address, environment, and signed-in identity. Review the user's membership and all relevant team assignments, then compare the behavior with the intended access policy.

Do not grant Administrator access simply to make a failed user test pass. Correct the specific identity, membership, or permission issue.

Inspect available [system logs](/access-and-sharing/audit-logs-privacy-and-security/investigate-system-logs.md) around the failure time. For custom domains, check any identity-provider settings that depend on the address.

After a correction, run both allowed and denied cases from [the access test checklist](/access-and-sharing/overview/test-access.md). Verify the published app, not only the builder preview.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.jetadmin.io/jet-bridge-deployment/logs-and-troubleshooting/published-app-access-fails.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
