# Choose a Classic tutorial

Applies to **Classic App Builder**. Screens and recordings in this section show the Classic interface.

Choose the tutorial that matches the app's audience and task.

| Audience                        | Start with                                                                                       | Verify                                                         |
| ------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Internal staff | [Build an internal tool](/classic-app-builder/classic-tutorials/quickstart.md) | Role-specific pages and permitted data operations. |
| Customers, partners, or vendors | [Create a customer portal](/classic-app-builder/classic-tutorials/creating-a-customer-portal.md) | Each user sees and changes only the records intended for them. |

## Before following a tutorial

Identify your data source, record identifiers, and intended user roles. Use synthetic records in a test environment.

If you start from a template, review every resource connection, component binding, and action input. A template's appearance does not prove that it is connected to the correct data.

Continue with [Data binding and variables](/classic-app-builder/binding-and-values.md) for connections between components and [Test, publish, and maintain](/classic-app-builder/preview-and-publish.md) before releasing the result.

For a new app built from prompts, see [Build your first app with AI](/getting-started/start-here.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.jetadmin.io/classic-app-builder/classic-tutorials/quickstart-2.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
