# Customize theme settings

Adjust theme parameters manually when you need a particular visual style. Start from a preset or work with the current settings.

## Change a setting

1. Open **Preview → Theme**.
2. Choose **Light** or **Dark** for the variant you are editing.
3. Find the setting you want to change.
4. Adjust it and inspect the relevant elements in Preview.
5. Click **Save changes** when the result is ready.

| Settings          | What to review                                                       |
| ----------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Typography | Regular, Heading, and Code fonts; letter spacing |
| Brand colors | Primary, Secondary, and Accent colors and their text colors |
| Surfaces | Page, card, popup, muted, and error/destructive backgrounds and text |
| Borders and focus | Border color, input border, and focus ring |
| Shapes | Corner radius and spacing |

## Check the result

Use a page with a table and form. Check body text, headings, input borders, keyboard focus, error text, and button labels. Review the other color mode separately.

For a targeted change, modify one group of settings at a time so you can see its effect. If you do not want to keep unsaved theme edits, use **Cancel**.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.jetadmin.io/ai-app-builder/themes-and-appearance/customize-theme-settings.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
